281  (Early Series)   Sweet dish with handle (or shallow 'basket') with wavy lip
Does this shape appear in other series?   No - (none recorded).

A surviving carbon-copy of an order document lists 281 as "Sweet dish", sweet presumably here meaning lollies not dessert. The document is dated November 1940, proving the Early Series was still in production in late 1940.

The handle position is variable, ranging from across the dish basket-style to merely a twig-handle on one side.

Dimensions; 12 - 14 cm across, height 6 - 7 cm (4 cm to rim).
