317 (Early Series)    Ribbed baluster-shaped vases with wide wavy flaring lip.

Does this shape appear in other series?   Yes - Later Series 8 , 500 Series 510 and 'A' Series/Kerryl A28.
Early Series 319 is similar but has a plain lip not wavy, and a more distinct transition from the body to the throat.

Fancy handle shapes are found on 8 and 10 inch pieces of 317, and also 319.
One fancy-handle piece incised 317/10 appears to be a 319/10 shape and is catalogued there.

Unusual example with plain lip.
Four size variants are recorded; s and inch suffixes 6, 8 and 10. Except for the smallest size every recorded example has a handle. The handles found on this shape exhibit more variety of style than any other shape.
